Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Merry Christmas!

Silent Night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright...

Sleep in heavenly peace.

The Reason for the Season

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulders; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
A quiet church before the service began.

I kept looking at the "North Star" during the Nativity play...so bright.

The candlelight was my favorite part when singing "Silent Night".
I could feel Dad's presence with me during the song with the lights out and the candles lit. I miss him so much. I always remember him singing "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" in church on Christmas Eve up at Onondaga Hill and looking at his "B" ring while he held the hymnal for us.

Aren't the stained glass windows beautiful?!

Merry Christmas,
Love you Mom and Dad!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Doesn't it look funny to see Christmas lights and grass?! I think the closest we'll get to a white Christmas this year is INSIDE the house!

Here's our white Christmas this year:

*Our white tree

*Our white Snowbabies

It wouldn't be Christmas without Nana's tree!

May your days be merry and bright...and may all your Christmases be white! (I sure do love BING!)

Over the River and Through the Woods to Nana's House We Go!

Here it is and ready to go!  You'll have to wait and see what is inside your BIG box!
Here's our little tree in the front window...can you see Dad's shell ornament in the picture? Do you see little Daffny in the village scene?  Look closely!  Check the package when it arrives.  There is something small in there that you should open upon arrival!

On the First Day of Christmas

Better Late Than Never

I thought I'd post Abby's quilt...even if it's a few months late!

My first attempt at quilting a design did not turn out so bad!
 Can you see the flower?
I really like how the "ruffles" turned out on the front.
Here's a look at the back!

Strawberry Fields Forever

My Strawberry Fields Bricks Kit arrived in the mail today from Burgundy Buttons!  I am planning on following Amy Smart's Easy Brick Quilt Pattern on Moda Bakeshop's website.

I just love the colors and patterns. It will make a perfect summertime bed quilt.  YUM! They look just like the strawberries I picked in our garden yesterday.

Let's Go For a Walk

Here's my Skye girl waiting patiently for me to finish ironing the fabric for the back of the quilt.
"It's way too hot in here to be ironing."

Next, I have to cut the fabric into 10" strips.

I just love my 3 1/2" ruler with the sticky sandpaper circles on the back.  It never slips when I'm cutting. I can thank my teacher at the Joyful Quilter for this piece of great advice.  Do you remember Mom when I once cut the end of my thumb off with the rotary cutter because my ruler slipped?? OMG!!!

Now I'm cutting the strips into 10" squares.  They will be the back of my fabric "sandwiches" I will start sewing this weekend.

Here are my finished squares...all 42 of them!

Skye is smiling...she is happy I am finished for today!  It has cooled down a lot now outside and the sun is still out.

You know what that means...TIME FOR A WALK!  Let's go Skye! Bye!
